Prayer of Thanksgiving

God, we thank you.
We thank you for the beauty that you’ve brought into our lives,
and the ugliness that taught us what beauty really was.
For the bad times that helped us appreciate the good.
For the lessons that you teach us so patiently.
For the friends that you’ve given us,
and the ones you’ve taken away, just so that we would realize how precious life really is.
We thank you for the times when we feel lonely,
so that we can enjoy the times when we feel loved.
We thank you for the lean times,
so that when there are times of plenty we are compelled to share with those in need.
We thank you for all these things and more.
Guide us, teach us, and help us to share your love with everyone who comes our way.
